Whirlpool WED7500GW0 started doing this a few weeks ago. Thumps for a few rotations, then smoothes out but doesn’t go away entirely. I recently cleaned it out so there’s no lint or anything else causing friction. The video is with the dryer empty. Bad rollers?

My seven-year-old Whirlpool dryer stopped heating so I took it apart to find the problem. There was a mass of charred lint near the heating element which obviously caught fire. It got so hot that the coil broke and the metal plate that holds the coil actually cracked.

Do I just have to take it apart once in a while to make sure it’s not about to burst into flames? I clean out the vent regularly and always clean the lint trap after every use.
