As title says, I'm actively typing thinks as my friends and I talk about it so if anything is repeated from another post then I'm sorry 😅
# Pets section
• Pet accessories: Certain hats to place on pets or even full outfits for them. Not sure how it would be implemented, but maybe a bench that brings up a screen similar to our inventory but instead of our scientist. It would be the pet that you have placed in the slot (could be a cage next to the bench)
• Food bowls/troughs: For pets to automatically take from. Could have different versions and maybe later through the story a version that slows decay rate
• Trinket collars: Only one can be equipped and obviously not all would function so maybe only some that would, like the Glowing shard for light, the headlight shield generator. Maybe a trinket collar that acts as a recharge station in the sense of gaining charge overtime like the shock traps do and can be used to recharge battery charged items so on so fourth. (Or make that something the electro pets can do as a passive)
• Mule packs for peccaries?: similar to collars but honestly just a backpack you can place on a peccary. Or a tiny pack for pests (which probably only holds like 3 things for those little guys) only downside could be that you cannot pick them up in your hotbar otherwise they just drop a loot spillbag (to avoid exploiting it for free storage so you don't bring like 6 peccaries just to haul loot without risk)
• Equipable shoulder skink: when you have the skink as a pet you can have an option to hold it on your shoulder and it will shoot at whatever you're attacking (I can see a few problems with this like not having a reason to use it as a gun but just a thought)
# Other random ideas
• "Snoman clothes pleaseeee :D" (ik this has been said but my friend won't stop about asking for snowmen getups on snowmen or other hats.. send help)
• More recolorable lights/turrets: This is more of a personal thing but I've always wanted to change the color of construction lights, glow bulbs, standing lamps, desk lamps. Etc. even the laser turrets I'd love to see a blue laser for example
• More defense/wall structures: placeable shutters, windowed walls and maybe even some double doors or placable ceiling-like structures or even just be able to flip cubicle walls to place horizontally for possible room creation (with a ceiling for real)and of course glass walls or display cases for some viewing/museum builds some builders might do for some IS entities that we can actually display
• Night detectors?: not too sure but something that blocks power until night might be pretty neat for some build ideas. Not sure how many people would use it though or what for..
• Wall planters for farming: I know you could probably use shelves for it but I feel like having wall planters would take a little less space and look more appealing than having shelves
• Warehouse-like shelves: I'm a bit of a sucker for storage spaces and as much as I know you can just place crates on top of one another but I feel like for builders like myself it would be a nice addition. Would stop me from needing to have walls just to have shelves to make it slightly more appealing visually.
• Dyer bench: Dying clothing or armors might be something some customisation peeps like myself may enjoy. Maybe you place in an armor piece and have different colorable sections? Trying to think it through. Either that or similar to coatings you can instead do a similar interaction but with paint and place it on armors (or weapons if that's something people are interested in. Especially late game weapons like the hardlight items).
• Maybe another voice later down the line? I personally love the voices we already have but some express wanting more options due to how they make their scientist so I'm just putting it out there. My glucose levels are DIRE (nothing beats the male voice 😂)
That's honestly all we can think of at the moment and some may seem far fetched, don't make sense or just aren't reasonable enough to be added but never know how well they'll be received if we don't try. Plus typing things out like this I'm not that great at so understanding may be at a low in some areas, especially with grammar sometimes. Any other ideas would be nice to see so I may go inspiration shopping soon 👀.
