What is going on over at Gale Force 9?
Haven't seen any posts here about this and I'm genuinely wondering if anybody can share some insight. For context, it seems GF9 have 2 campaigns funded and in progress at the moment: Adventures of Conan and Star Trek: Ascendancy. They also have one campaign open for follows that has not yet launched for a premium edition of DUNE. ALL of these projects are suffering from severe communication issues.
-Conan is the furthest along and its most recent update was 2 months ago, stating that miniatures had finished production and should start shipping the week of March 16th, along with an update when they do. Radio silence on the pledge manager from them since this update on March 11th.
-Star Trek was supposed to be fulfilled in April 2026 but is still in production. This one uniquely has actually seen an uptick in communication, but the most recent update on April 17th claims to still be in production on track for delivery in Q3(not that I really believe this given the Conan project). A comment on the same date supposedly from the CEO blames the lack of communication on a "genuine breakdown of roles and a shortage of people" at the beginning of 2026. Not exactly inspiring to hear there aren't enough people at the company to write a 3 paragraph update 2 times a month.
-DUNE is the one I'm actually interested in, and the incompetence on display here is hilarious. The campaign preview has been open for years now. The most recent update was in February 2025. The banner still reads "Lands 2025" 35% of the way through with 2026. Their window to fulfill the game alongside the new movie passed a long time ago. The comments are a mixture of jokes at GF9's expense and apathy.
I haven't even given them any money and I still have lost so much faith in this company. Does anyone know what the hell is going on over there? I've seen some say "this is just how they do things" but I cannot accept that this lack of professionalism is normal? If anyone has insight into the reasons why they refuse to post updates or what the problems with fulfillment/production are I would love to hear it.
