Firstly, I know seeking an employment lawyer is my next step and I will be doing that. However my workplace I have been at for 10+ years at (always at the satellite office) just informed all employees at that office that it's shutting down and they have to report to the head office 1 hour away or quit (with no severance of course).
Problem is that I have a young kid and live 2 hours away from the head office so thats not a feasible option for me. Even though my role can be done remotely (and was done so with ease during COVID) that was not an option offered to any of the satellite office employees.
Has anyone been in a similar situation before and how did it end up for you?
