I have a buddy of mine who has a Kenwood tk-3000 that is currently programmed to a frequency many years ago, but he's not sure what frequency it is

I have gotten a UV-5R recently and wanted to save a channel so that I can link up with his Kenwood

From testing out a bunch of frequencies and using the scan function. I noticed I got a frequency 441.600mhz picking up something while holding the PTT on the Kenwood. I typed in the frequency on the UV-5R and everytime I press the Kenwood PTT, the UV-5R receives a signal but no sound coming through. Only static

Is there any way to get the 2 to communicate? I don't have a programming cable for the Kenwood and the programming cable for my baofeng is coming soon

Any help in the meantime would be appreciated
