Venting can be to anyone. Anyone at all. But it shouldn't be. There are some people out there who just aren't the person you need and, thus, will not be who you want to vent to.

Now, just because they aren't suitable for you to talk to doesn't necessarily make them a bad person. Some people just wouldn't comfort you, would make you feel worst (unintentionally/intentionally) or would lack sympathy. However, if you DO vent to a person that you KNOW wouldn't be good for you, that's on you.

I personally will not comfort someone who is crying because they vented to the wrong person and they had perfect knowledge that the person would not be who they need.
