Hugo
This is Hugo. Hugo moved onto the great hammock in the sky this morning.
He was a birthday present back in February 2025, at which point he was already fully mature. We figure he had to be pushing 20-22 months at the end, which I understand to be quite a long life for a male bold jumper.
The loss is sad. That said, Hugo opened our eyes to how incredible these little creatures are, and I have a tremendous amount of gratitude for the time we had with him. Within my family, he cultivated more of an appreciation and respect for not just jumping spiders, but the creepy crawly world as a a whole. The curiosity and personality these little guys and gals display is stunning, and while this one will be greatly missed, I’m just happy to have been able to share space with such an amazing little spider.
Stay Gold, Hugo!
