I’m torn between the Yamaha R7, Yamaha R6, and Honda CBR600RR, and I honestly don’t know which one makes the most sense for me.
I originally wanted an R3 because I’ve always liked Yamaha, but I ended up buying a CBR300R because of budget. I’ve ridden bikes before, and the CBR300R feels a little slow for me now. I want something that will help me keep growing as a rider, but I also don’t want to buy something I’ll be tempted to sell again in 2–3 years.
A lot of people have told me the R7 is a lot slower than the R6 and CBR600RR, which makes me second guess it. At the same time, I know the R7 is probably the better street bike and maybe the smarter choice overall. I also think the CBR600RR has a better exhaust design, which makes it even more appealing to me.
I don’t do track days, I mainly just ride for fun on the street here and there. So I’m trying to figure out whether it makes more sense to get the newer bike I actually want, or save some money and go straight to a used 600.
Any advice from people who’ve owned or ridden these bikes?
