Hi all! This tattoo is completely white ink, I got it 8 days ago. It’s a bit achy, and difficult not to move since it’s on the wrist. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!!

Edit: Okay, okay, I hear yall I’m going 😭

UPDATE: At urgent care, he said it seems to just be a small localized infection and skin reaction. My skin lowkey hates everything so I’m not too shocked. Thanks!

Update 2: okay, I am gonna defend myself a little, but I’m mostly making this update because I just left the urgent care/ER and I’m a little upset.

Why didn’t I get this checked earlier? A friend with lots more tattoos than me said that white ink heals pretty darn ugly. When I had a smaller concert last week, I asked my artist and she said it normal. When mentioned it to family, they said I should wait longer because there are very few ER/urgent care in my area that take our insurance, nonetheless open on weekends. Moneys been really tight recently so this kinda freaked me out. I have also been so overwhelmed with work and finals recently, that this was not even NEAR the top of my mind.

Now, why I’m also a bit upset. I felt like an idiot for not going sooner, but I went to get it checked. The triage nurses were legit looking at me like I was disgusting. When back there, the doctor insisted it wasn’t an infection at all, just contact dermatitis. When I raised further concern, he basically said “fine, I can prescribe some antibiotic ointment, but I don’t think you need it.” Then the next doctor came and asked if I was ready for my shot???? And he said he needed to give me a tetanus shot, and seemed upset I didn’t know that, but like no one told me???

All in all I kinda broke down crying in my car because like??? It’s a doctors office?? Why is everyone so mean?!?

Thank you for the kind words and support, I don’t have many tattoos so I wasn’t sure what to do. For those with less than kind words, commenting is optional!!
