Constant baiting by recruiters
Last week (May, 4), I received this email:
My name is Pedro, I'm a recruiter at micro1. We're moving quickly to finalize candidates for Financial Due Diligence Analyst, Financial Data Privacy Analyst by end of day.
The positions are fully remote with flexible hours. If you're interested, apply below and take the AI interview. The whole process is quick.
Best,
Pedro
I applied and took the interview both of which are "Satisfactory Interview" since then despite the promise to finalize by of end of day.
On Friday I received a replica of the same email:
My name is Andrew, I'm a recruiter at micro1. We're moving quickly to finalize candidates for Accounting and Audit Office Specialist by end of day.
The position are fully remote with flexible hours. If you're interested, apply below and take the AI interview. The whole process is quick.
Best,
Andrew
I did not take the interview because it seem I am being baited into interviewing. The positions in the first email are still outstanding and not finalized but there is a new position they are dying to finalize. I accepted that there might have been a delay in finalizing the two positions in the first email, but sending a second email with similar wording tells me this is an entrenched practice to create imaginary urgency to meet goals than genuine effort to finalize positions.
I wrote in a post earlier this week about this kind of practice by recruiters. It seems like there is a push to achieve a certain number of interviews. This practice seem dishonest. I have 62 vetted skills that cover most of the Accounting and Audit office specialist requirements. My field is quant finance with strong emphasis on financial engineering and risk management but among the recommended positions on my profile is Marriage and Family Therapist. Last week there was a position for a Financial Analysts with a risk management focus was posted under urgent positions here on reddit. I was not invited to apply despite being in line with my profile. But someone thinks I would make a better family therapist and a Resort Clerk Desk Clerk despite the obvious disconnect with my skills and experience.
