Young queer couple considering move to Santa Fe
My wife (31) and I (34f) have recently started considering Santa Fe as a destination to move to. We currently live in DC, and are looking to move west to be closer to family. We are also looking at LA, San Diego, and Denver.) Some of the things we are looking for in our next home include:
- job opportunities in sports/ government
- queer spaces and community (specifically other young queer families)
- good maternal healthcare that is queer friendly
- thriving local community
- decent public schools
- access to nature
- affordability (relative to DC)
- food and bar scene
I’ve done some research, but it’s hard to totally get the pulse. I know Sante Fe is a great little touristy town but trying to understand what it is like to live there and to live there as a younger queer person. What do you think anyone considering a move to Santa Fe should know?
Thanks in advance for any insight!
