Discovered small old credit card debt I didn’t know about

Hey everyone,

I recently tried to apply for a credit card and got denied based on my apparently extremely low credit score, which was a surprise as I hadn’t used a credit card in years.

I did some digging and turns out that when I closed my boa bank account in college, I had mistakenly assumed that my credit card was paid off in full and that the card would be cancelled at the same time. Stupid that I didn’t double check, I know, and it turns out that I had an outstanding balance of $60 at that time. Since I had moved shortly afterwards across the country and figured my business with the bank was done with my account closed, I never bothered to check again. This was about 4-5 years ago.

I’m not sure what to do right now, should I call them and explain and offer to pay it back? Aside from it tanking my credit, how much trouble am I really in? I’d appreciate any advice. Thank you
