Hello guys. I am a branch changer from a very lower non circuital branch to a much higher non circuital branch(circuital nahi mili imao😞).

The thing is, I feel a bit isolated. I mean I had great friends in previous branch in first sem but now, although people here are great but there is some sort of saturation- their groups are formed within themselves. I align sometimes with various groups but I couldnt become a part of them. Its feels a bit tiring and lonely now, for my original group of first sem is also distanced from me- mostly because due to different branchs now we meet occasionally and have lesser common grounds.

My dear fellow branch changers, please share your opinion too....do you guys feel the same. If yes, how did you cope up with that....

Friends

Why arent we preparing for quant firms. Like literally not even the cs people are into it. Like we CAN crack quant firms too.

Everyone here has dream job of faang maang only. Its good okay. But what about higher levels?Dont we have the potential to do it?

I have seen some cases where people from tier 2,if not 3 are breaking into quant with exceptional cp and prob stats skills

We can too guys. I wont name companies but we all know they exist. Like their pay in intern is more than your faang annual base .

I am willing to be in a club that helps in quant prep. I am disappointed heavily with asn and devcomm. These are good but cant raise the bar higher.

Well I am a good coder and am willing to make a community of such people.

Let me know if i am thinking right or if we really lack talent to achieve quant intern or jobs.

Thanks

Well why dont we have slightest of the upsc aspirations in the campus. Other iits like kanpur delhi too have far better culture and groups that actively are involved in this preparation. Why this trend is not in our iit too. Everyone here does the limited cp or dsa and spend their whole btech life in this. Being from a far medicore branch I feel forced to take that path too.Very less diversification I must say.

Please , people of iitr.

Good civil servants should be produced from here too.We should have a specific club for this. Just wanted to give this suggestion. If this is not a viable solution then please help me understand why.

Thanks
