Advice needed - travel

My LO is 5.5 months old and is soo wonderful. I am looking for advice here.

I’m a high school teacher. Before I got pregnant I planned a school trip to Japan with two coworkers for our students. It is a week long, and is coming up in 3 weeks

I’m feeling anxious at moments and excited at others. It’s a 7 day trip. My baby would stay with my husband and my parents, so he’s in very capable hands.

I’m nervous about leaving him and am worried he’s going to forget me or that it’ll hurt him emotionally. Has anyone done travel with a little one and it went fine? Would love any thoughts or advice

Help!

I am nervous to start sleep training and have a few questions. I’m planning on the Ferber method.

Baby is 5.5 months and sleeps probably three hours at a time. I don’t have him on a strict schedule except for a bedtime routine.

First, any advice for emotionally hearing your baby cry and having to wait??

Next for diapers, do we just wait all night to change their diaper?

Finally, my baby is rolling over a lot more consistently. He rolls over easily from back to tummy, but has a harder time rolling from tummy to back. Is it OK that he rolls onto his stomach at night? He has really strong head control but I feel like I spent the first five months of his life making sure he falls asleep and stays on his back and now I’m nervous about him flipping onto his tummy, but if I try to manage it all night, I won’t even get an hour of sleep. Thank you so much in advance, and happy Mother’s Day to all the mamas!!

Questions before starting sleep training

I am nervous to start sleep training and have a few questions. I’m planning on the Ferber method.

Baby is 5.5 months and sleeps probably three hours at a time. I don’t have him on a strict schedule except for a bedtime routine.

First question is, is there any validity to sleep training hurting the baby emotionally or their attachment style?

Second, for diapers, do we just wait all night to change their diaper?

Third, my baby is rolling over a lot more consistently. My little boy turns 5 months in 2 days, and we have him sleeping in his room but not through the night. I am looking into starting the Ferber method and just want to make sure I have this correct on how to do it.

- night time routine before bed

- but him in bed tired but awake

- leave the room and IF (?) he starts crying, then set a timer for 5 mins (is that correct, or do I set a timer whether or not he cries?)

- if crying after 5 mins, go in and reassure him for 20-30 seconds but don’t pick him up, then leave room

- set timer for ten minutes, if crying after 10, go in and do the same

- same thing for a 15 min timer

I think what I’m confused about is do I only set the timer if he’s crying? Do I also do the same process if he wakes in the middle of the night? So if I’m asleep, and then he wakes up crying, do I immediately go in or do I set a five minute timer?

Thanks!!! Very reassured by what I’ve been reading on this page
