RAM confusion
Just recently I was having some RAM/MOBO issues where DIMM slot 1 and 2 when populated was causing crashes. Finally I sent my ASUS B550XE Gaming MOBO out for RMA. It finally came back and I'm putting everything back. What I'm uncertain is should I install in of DIMM slots by 1,2,3,4 or 2,4,1,3. I always thought that with 4 stick from the same kit didn't really matter. All sticks have same batch number too Also, it looks like they might have printed a different order than in manual. Manual says A1,A2,B1,B2 and board says B1,B2,A1,A2. Which would you go by? LastlyI must have bought RAM that is XMP and not EXPO. Does that matter?
Edit: PC is completely back together. I populated all four DIMM slots with RAM. The same issue is happening. PC won't boot when A1, A2, B1, B2 is populated.. It will not post with A2,B2 or A1,A2. The only post I can get is with B1, B2 populated. I've also switched every stick combination in B1,B2 and worked everytime. I've even tried another entirely different set of RAM. The MOBO was given the green light from ASUS. So, the only thing I can think is a bad CPU.
