Can you start dropshipping with 2000 USD?

Yes you can do with 2000 usd

Will you succeed?
Very unlikely

Why? Because cash flow issues will fuck you up and that is if you’re not losing money day in day out.
Let’s say you find a winning combo of ads + LP + offer + np chargebacks due to shitty product or delayed shipping then youre still stuck with 4-7 days of payouts of even more depending on country and age of Shopify.

Does that mean Dropshipping is dead?
No, far from it. I’ve made good 6 figs from it.

But it just gor insanely harder to do it, especially if you don’t have enough capital. (More than 10k usd, ideally even more so you have more room for failure)

What to do instead?
You’ll not like to hear this but yeah GET A JOB.
Save up money. Do Dropshipping or any paid ads business model on the side as they’re very competitive in today’s time but also lucrative if you’re in the right community or have a friend who’s successful or 10-20k liquid cash for ads.

When I say 6 figs tbat I’ve made its revenue. You’ll see the kind of issues you deal with when you scale up so I do multiple things. Info, Aff, etc to make up for shirty margins on e-commerce.

2nd option:
Organic Affiliate Marketing
You’ll not need 1000s of dollars upfront but be ready to pay for info from people ahead of you. And tools that’ll make your workflow easier.

I bought a subscription to Luxury Tools from a friend’s discord server (34$/mo) and hopped on Kalodata, Brandsearch and within a few days i realised im seeing the same products over and over again. Most have been ripped a gazillion times. Decided to log myself out within a week and make use of all the free tiers of the most useful tools for ecom.

After a few days I decided to keep using it but a bit differently.
Kalodata: products yes but more for video ads formats, scripts, winning hooks for my niche)
TryAtria: studying all the damn static ads they have there filtered for my niche to get inspo
Semrush for traffic no brainer
Brand search for studying funnels, offers, LPs, tracking stores
Heygen and Veo for AI ugc and yapper, podcast style ads (yes they work, no it’s not a marketing gimmick by these ai companies lol or by course sellers)
Higgsfield (unlimited models) for image ads. I run image ads copying and implementing whatever I learnt from the collection of statics at TryAtria and use successful advertorial clones and copied and edited for my niche and these ai statics helped me bump budgets to 1000 dollar days too so thank you AI (I did good Reaearch tho)
CreativeOS for readymade static ad templates (goated software, shout-out to those wjo built it, also the AI feature to replicate the static ad I like for my product)

I don’t use the LLMs there as my chat history can be seen if somebody is using at the same time. It may reveal my product. That shouldn’t be a problem but unfortunately our moat/edge as dropshippers at 5-6 figures is product category and ripped ads. Can’t afford to get that lakes and ripped.

Overall it’s saving me hundreds of dollars a month even a week as I use these so often for my workflows. But here are some pros and cons:

Cons: video gen credits get abused by users so it’s down very often. Some other tools like kalodata are down often.

Pros: the cheap price of only 29$ dollars a month makes it insanely affordable and a steal for so many pro and pr but these tools do save you a lot of time and money.

For anyone starting out, it’s a no brainer. I used to pay 700-1000 usd a month on about 7-8 tools. That’s a lot of money even for someone like me who’s at 6 figs rev (rev not profit so after all expenses and meta numbers fluctuating a lot it hurts to spend so much only on these tools, Shopify apps etc extra ofc)

Get it here, yes it’s an affiliate link:
