Why does Quran say that Allah guides people but also that people choose to be guided or stray? (39:37&41) Which is it? Either way it doesn’t make sense. If Allah guides whom he wills, how is he just for punishing the people he himself didn’t choose?
And the other makes no sense because its not someones choice to be guided or to stray. We can’t choose what we believe our beliefs are formed from what we observe. I can’t choose to believe 1+1=3 no matter how bad the punishment is for believing it’s 2.
Problems like this and much more are causing me to have serious doubts. I really wish I didn’t, I was much happier as a fully believing Muslim and if I could choose to go back to that I would. Again it’s not my choice to have these doubts but if I end up leaving the religion how can Allah be just for punishing me if I literally am doing everything in my power to still believe?
