Conflicted (Saints)

Let me start by saying, regardless of who you support or allegiance, please keep this as civil as possible.

As a saints fan, I'm really conflicted, obviously I want(ed) us to get promoted, but this whole spygate shit has really suffocated any enthusiasm i had for the playoffs.

There's so many unknowns and variables that we don't yet officially know the details of, (was it only once or multiple times, who knew & was this carried out at the direction of the manger or was it a 'rogue analyst' etc)

What seems to be the case (although still not officially confirmed YET) is that we had an analyst spying on Middlesbrough, which in an isolated case earlier in the season would have been bad, but nothing too major imo (enough games left for it to not be as impactful), the issue though, is this was going into the first leg of the playoff semi final, that timing alone really changes things and makes this so much worse.

It's easy for Middlesbrough fans & even a lot of neutrals to say 'just kick saints out', I get people's frustrations, but realistically thats not going to happen, but what should be the outcome?

The 'best' outcome & the easiest for the EFL to navigate will obviously be for Middlesbrough to beat us tonight, but if we beat Middlesbrough tonight then what the hell should happen?

Leeds obviously spied back in 2019 iirc and were given a 200k fine, the difference was, it was a lot earlier in the season, now with saints (so far) we're only alleged to have done this once, but what if we didn't, what if it turns out we've don't this numerous times throughout the season? That massively changes things imo.

So where does that leave fans of both clubs, neutrals & the EFL?

We finished 9 points plus goal difference ahead of Wrexham, so any points deduction (which is impossible at this late stage) for a single incident (based on current available information) would have still kept us in the playoffs, however IF this happened multiple times throughout the season then obviously the punishment should be harsher, although at the moment, theres no evidence of that.

There's frustration on all sides (understandably so) but we've done this to ourselves, not saying it'll happen, but if we beat Middlesbrough tonight then Hull in the final to get promoted then that potentially taints the integrity of the game, the EFL, the playoffs, if we beat Middlesbrough tonight then lose to Hull, then Middlesbrough understandably will be aggrieved and almost certainly contest it, but then that pulls Hull into it through no fault of their own.

This whole saga is a fucking mess, I dont know why we felt the need to do this in the first place, I've not idea if this was at the instructions on Tonda, but if it was then that calls into question a whole world of other things (his 3 manager of the month awards, our results against other clubs if it's proven it has been happening for a long time, etc)

Realistically given the current situation, the 'best' outcome for Middlesbrough and the EFL is that saints lose tonight, but if saints win then the EFL have got one hell of a headache on their hands.

Also for what its worth, if it turns out this was at the direction of the manager, and it's proven to have happened on numerous occasions then I think Tonda should be sacked, if it's proven to have been a one off then I'm not sure (a one year ban maybe?)

I dont know, all i know is that, I'm definitely no longer as happy about us in the playoffs as I was a week ago.

Sorry this ended up being a LOT longer than I initially intended, just ended up putting my thoughts out there, what's everyone else's thoughts, and please try to keep them realistic, saints aren't getting kicked out the playoffs, but there does need to be some kind of punishment I just dont know what exactly, also part of me kinda just wants Middlesbrough to beat us tonight so we can all move on from this shitshow.

Why do people vote reform?

I'm a moderate who leans marginally to the right, but personally I'd NEVER vote for reform, they'll be absolutely disastrous for the country imo (you only need to look at the local councils they ran, prior to yesterday's election) and yet more and more people are voting for them, i don't get it.

I'm by no means a labour supporter, and im really not a fan of Starmer, his domestic policies and issues are a joke, I will give him credit though, his handling of Trump & especially the war in Iran have been handled about as well as can be expected.

For those that voted reform, why? I just don't get it, the only example on a personal level i have, is my dad who imo has been brainwashed by watching talk tv pretty much every waking second of every day, is that why people vote reform, because they're like my dad, or because they're racist bigots, or is there an entirely different reason?

I don't get it, Farage if he ever wins a general election will probably try to run the country the way Trump is now running America, and that should terrify everyone.

I've been looking at a few items recently, and wondering what items need either adjustments or reworks.

After the change to conduit (which i personally dislike) i wondered about a few other items, one of which is Syonic, I don't know if this would make it too strong, but as its an assassin item, wouldn't it make more sense for it to have omnivamp instead of lifesteal? It would probably need a power reduction but this surely would make more sense.

Another item, also in the assassin tree is Echelon, maybe remove the mana regen on it, double the health regen from 1% - 2% and instead of increasing damage dealt by 8% when leaving stealth, maybe instead have it do % health damage when leaving stealth with the next instance of damage, and enter stealth quicker, instead of 12 seconds, maybe reduce it to 10?

And as I mentioned conduit, would it not make more sense to revert that, and just bring back Requiem? It was a great item which does partially what conduit now does?

Sorry, maybe I'm being foolish, but these just stood out to me.

Including today's game, saints have played 54 games (so far) with at least another 2 coming up, a 3rd if we get to the playoff final.

How the hell are our players not a mess on the floor from exhaustion, gotta give credit to the fitness levels of our players & credit to the entire backroom staff at saints, we've not had too many injuries, or serious fatigue issues, its insane we could potentially play 57 games in total & god knows how many that were played just a few days apart without any major problems.

Guaranteed downvotes, but i don't care, NERF/GUT the goddamn magical attack speed build (especially on zinx) I'm sick to death of seeing that stupid build on zinx every time she's in a game, she does top damage 90% of the time with it, stuns you and damn near kills you before the stun wears off.

Just played a tank (going full tank) and got destroyed by her, had frostguard, Unbroken, giants ring & stonewall in my build but she still melted me, it's a bullshit build, and zinx with that build is just ridiculous, PLEASE hard nerf her or those magical attack speed items!!!

I don't see this happening, but IF we beat Ipswich tonight & go into the final day of the season with results going something similar to this, that would probably be the most exciting final day in the championship in YEARS.

I should say though, I personally don't see Ipswich losing to QPR if im honest, so they'll almost certainly take 2nd spot.
