Really starting to dislike my country (UK)

(I want to preface this rant by saying that the UK is obviously not the worst place to live and I have a ton of passport privilege by living here and im writing on mobile so their will be spelling mistakes)

A far right party just made massive gains in local elections and will probably win the next election, whilst the current ruling party, that is supposed to be left wing, does nothing but daemonise immigrants, disabled people and trans people, to appeal to an increasingly far right voting base. Currently out of all the major parties that operate across the UK only The Greens seem to be adopting achual progressive polices.

Sadly im increasingly realising that the UK will never stop being a country built around punching down at minority groups. People act as though it's a new thing but honestly its just what the country is, growing up their was always some TV show playing designed around bullying and stigmatizing disabled and neurodivergent people whilst all the most popular newspapers were (and still are) right wing gammonslop. Their is this entrenched, class based system of hatred designed around always punching down on those deemed lesser, whilst the wealthy constantly dodge tax and boast about it.

In addition everything is so expensive now, if you can't drive, you are spending around 50 pounds on a hour long train ride, whilst things like groceries, bills and housing only becomes more expensive, despite the companies administering them making record profits. Yet nobody gives a shit, most people are more concerned about a handful of boats of refugees arriving than the corporations achually making peoples lives worse. Most young people will never own a house, even if they worked all their lives, because the government cares more about appeasing greedy landlords than giving people the opportunity to succeed in life.

Plus their are just no opportunities anymore, the job market is completely broken, you constantly get ghosted or insulted with temple rejection letters and, despite the forms taking hours to fill and if you do get an interview they ask a bunch of weird questions before giving you another temple rejection. Its inhuman and soul destroying, and whilst its happening the press, and people who read it are attacking those out of work as being lazy or scroungers as if its their fault that even entry level jobs are not hiring.

Plus as an autistic person, yes their are accomodations available in school, Universitys etc... and their is an awareness of what autism is. However most of the time the support only serves as a plaster that does nothing to heal the gaping wound that is the heavily conformist and often ableist culture of the UK. Schools work under an outdated, Victorian approach, that turns them into conformist exam factories, where students and teachers are put under a huge amount of stress and although Unis are slightly better, oftentimes a degree does nothing but put you in a lot of dept (worse if your from a working class background), whilst also not providing any job opportunities anymore (however most jobs still require a degree).

Finally although I am not trans I lothe how trans people have been treated, they are endlessly attacked and othered by the press, whilst TERFs have free reign to take away their rights. Multiple organizations have caved to TERF bs and banned trans people from healthcare, the workplace and public spaces, making life significantly harder for trans people (including Children) to live a normal and happy life. Its yet another example of the punching down culture of the UK, where people just turn on and systemicly target a minority group out of spite, its honestly evil.

At this point I genuinely think my country is completely broken and im ashamed of what it has become.
