I’m a female, 5’7, 136lb and 39 years old. I have never done any exercise in my life. I always enjoy walking but these past years I became extremely sedentary. I gained 50 pounds ( from 125lb to 175lb ) and was incredibly depressed . On September 2025 I decided that I didn’t want these life anymore so I started walking again. About 1-2 miles per day. It was rough because I live in a hilly neighborhood. I also started to eat healthy (mainly whole foods, tracking calories, protein, carbs etc) I have lost 40 pounds so far and on February I started running a bit. I also added 3 times per week, whole body strength training with some dumbbells. I have gained some muscle, specially in my legs. I know this is a long journey but I couldn’t be happier right now. I officially did a 5k about two weeks ago. It was very hilly but I ran most of the time. My heart rate seems a little high but since I am a beginner and my route has tons of mini hills I am hoping it gets lower the more I run. Currently I run 4 times per week about 3 miles each day. 3 of those times is a walk/run interval and then on Saturday I do my 5k test (I run most of it) I am also preparing to participate in a 5k race on Memorial Day weekend. Any tips/advice would be greatly appreciated! ❤️ hoping to do a sub 35 😊thank you!
