26 Forester Hybrid Hiccuping and Banging on Engine Start?

Hi everyone.

Picked up a 26 Forester Premium Hybrid last week. There are less than 100 miles on the odometer. A couple of days after getting the car, we started to hear knocking noises when the car is turned on and the gas engine kicks in to warm up. (The noise become more pronounced around the 50 second mark of the video.)

Over the last couple of days, the knocking has started to last longer. The dealership (which has been good so far) isn't quite sure what to make of the noise, which I was able to demonstrate the problem to the mainline service advisor when I took the car in. No codes were thrown off by the ECU and no warning lights have flashed on the dashboard. But this does not sound normal to me. (Our Toyota Camry hybrid's engine is smooth and silent. I know the Subie's idle loud, but there should NOT be any knocking and banging, right?)

Further data, after warming up and driving the car, the issue goes away and the car appears to drive as normal, with an occasional hiccup when cruising between 40 and 50 mph and the car is switching back and forth between hybrid and gas modes.

I was just wondering if anyone else has run into this issue. I have not contacted SoA yet. I wanted to work with the dealer first, before taking that next step. (Or should I go ahead and open a ticket with them now?)

Thanks in advance!
