Got this 500 to use

Got this 500 to use

A coworker and I bonded over some stuff and he decided to give me this 500 when I told him I make beats.

It came with a 128 mb card a midi to usb cable and 12 power supply that's doesn't seem to work but I powered the unit with batteries so idk if it's the sockets in my room. Looks like I'll need stereo cables to use for audio in recording.

I thought nervous cook might have had videos on this, but it was the 1000.

Anyone got pointers for a beginner to the MPC500 for learning it?

Made a Logarithmic passive mixer this time

Man the difference between linear and logarithmic pots and faders for volume is pretty interesting.

This is my third TX-6 style mixer that I had time to finally finish. The first used linear faders and pots, and the second had faders that were too high value resistance so it was more on the quiet side.

In having a nightmare.

My iPhone 12 on ios 26.3.1 was functioning fine early yesterday.

I get home from work and I get a random popup saying something like "allow network to detect other devices nearby" or something to that effect. I declined not thinking much of it, and then I lost the ability to play YouTube, loading anything in my browser, calling on FaceTime, accessing my wifi network, software update check, logging into icloud to solve this mess. Not even resetting network settings for anything.

Unfortunately, I had no recent backups for my device and resorted to reset and set it up as a new phone and start from scratch and have to go through this whole song and dance, and re-download all the apps and login to stuff to get my stuff close to what it was before.

Anyone else experience anything like this? This is the most frustrating experience I've ever had to deal with.
