TLDR - Have you heard people in Bristol calling cider “glider”?

I’m the founder of Bristol’s cider boat The Apple & Bristol cider brand Branch. Branch are about to launch a charity fundraiser with a donation from every pint of cider going to support the Bristol Birdman event on June 14th where teams build gliders and throw themselves in the river.

One of my favourite bits of Bristolian slang is when proper Bristol boys call cider ‘glider’. I want to get a feel for how well known this slang is in Bristol to decide how much we can play on it in the wording of our charity promo. For example, a line like ‘Get On Your Glider’ would require people to know the slang, whereas ‘Ciders For Gliders’ is more self explanatory.

So have you heard cider called ‘glider’? Do you think people will get it? Or is it too obscure?
