I'm a weekend recreational biker, so I wanted a comfort road bike, but the RC120 had too many caveats (hanger built into frame/lack of thru axel). The cheaper domane and contend bikes were almost 2000 cdn with assembly and shipping.

My budget was 1500 so it went with the EDR AF Claris by decathlon with modifications including a flipped shorter 90mm 6degree stem along with a more comfortable seat.

I really wish they still made the RC500 because it was the perfect sweet spot of comfort, fun, and affordability, but I'm hoping this setup will at least embody some of it's comfortable grace.
