Mystery gynaecological problem
Hi! I (20F, 5’0, 95lbs) am in the process of trying to find out what is wrong with me, which is turning out to be a long and complicated one. My life is deeply impacted by my symptoms and no gyno has been able to figure out what’s causing it.
Diagnoses:
Unspecified anxiety and depression
PTSD
Medications:
Sertraline 100mg / day
Hydroxyzine 10mg when needed
Substances:
Smoker (~5 cigarettes a day)
Occasionally vapes
Rarely drinks
No recreational drugs
Symptoms and other observations:
\- I’ve been producing breastmilk for 2 years now. (Prolactin results are normal.)
\- Painful period and ovulation (Pain in thighs, back. Sometimes light but often times causing nausea, cold sweats and difficulty walking).
\- Recurring shedding of decidual pieces causing intense pain.
\- Cycle ranging from 22-45 days this past year.
\- 2 functional haemorrhaging cysts these past 2 years. One ending with me having to stay in the ER overnight due to continuous bleeding.
\- Poly cystic ovaries (not to be confused with poly cystic ovarian syndrome).
\- Episodes of stabbing pains whole luteal phase.
\- Heavy periods. I’ve been anaemic 10 times at this point. I get there at least once a year without fail.
\- Bleeding 7-10 days. Spotting sometimes goes on up until ovulation.
\- Birth control causes me to bleed intensely. Especially during sex. Also causes me more, larger decidual sheddings.
\- Mom has endometriosis, grandmother has had a handful of miscarriages.
\- Clots about the size of large grapes
\- Endometrium on the thicker side before period. Around 17-20 mm.
\- UTI like symptoms before period.
\- Sharp pain during bowel movements during period.
\- Uterus is reflected but then folds over itself (?).
\- Occasional deep abdominal cramps during/after sex.
\- Incontinence during physical activity. Especially jumping.
\- Intense pain trying to poop during periods (causing cold sweats, fainting sensations).
\- Normal thyroid function.
I’ve met with a handful of gynaecologists. Everyone says different things, but never anything conclusive. Please share your thoughts.
