Admittedly, this post is a bit embarrassing to make considering I’m a 25 year old woman who should have a good grasp on her period what is or is not normal, but alas here I am. I was recently told by a friend that my 40 day cycle is abnormal and I should have long seen a gynaecologist about it. My cycle is 40 days on the mark. Every. Single. Time. And has been that way since I got my period at 13. How abnormal is this actually? I have very minimal pain during menstruation, and my flow is very normal so nothing seems inherently ‘wrong’, but now I am second guessing everything. I do suspect I may have PMDD, perhaps triggered by having a longer luteal phase than what would be considered normal, but I haven’t gotten a diagnosis since it’s not something I have brought up with my doctor as of yet.
