Bought a 2005 civic hybrid for way more than I should have, admittedly from Facebook marketplace after my mechanic told me it shouldn't need more than "wear and tear replacements down the line". After taking it to another mechanic, they said it needed replacements on the suspension ($1800), a new battery and tires ($700), which I have already done and now is saying it needs a new IMA battery and engine mounts ($2600 at least). When is the time to cut my losses on the car? Everything else is in great shape (or that's what my new mechanic tells me) and the car has no rust.
