I had a pre-anatomy scan on Monday, and everything looked good, that’s what the doctor said. I’m still spiraling a bit though, because they had me do a precautionary blood test (the alpha-fetoprotein test), so now I’m waiting on those results too, plus the full anatomy scan in 4 weeks I am 16 weeks and 5 days preganant now. I didn’t take prenatals very consistently before getting pregnant, which is also making me anxious. But if everything looked good on the pre-anatomy scan, does that usually mean the blood test will come back normal too? First pregnancy and just everything throws me off. Praying to god!

My mom has been putting a lot of stress on me. We got pregnant before getting married—something we’re not opposed to, it just didn’t happen in the order we planned. But she’s been giving me a really hard time about it. She even said, in front of my partner, that she won’t help with the baby if we’re not married first. It really hurt him, especially because he’s always been kind to her.

My dad hasn’t been in the picture since I was young, so it’s just been her, but she often creates a lot of tension in my life. I tried to explain that we plan to do a simple court marriage now and have a proper ceremony after the baby arrives, since I’m not feeling well during the pregnancy. But she dismissed that and said it has to be a church wedding (prayer) idk what that means, she won’t accept anything else. My partner is like she's cursing our child I don't like it. I don't know what to do and how to satisfy everyone while I am pregnant and stressed. We are in our 30's not like we are 18 and have great jobs, and are commited to eachother. We are engaged.
