“It’s funny how a simple picture of The Oberoi Sukhvilas Spa Resort gets removed for ‘violating rules,’ while half the subreddit is flooded with meaningless lonely-post spam that somehow survives moderation. Apparently, a post with 14k views and 171 upvotes is somehow ‘violating the conditions of the group.’ At this point, either the moderators need to apply rules consistently, or the community should seriously question how posts are being moderated because randomly removing harmless posts without basic judgment just kills the quality of the sub.

Lately, the feed is flooded with posts like “looking for a girl for night gedi,” “DM me to set people up,” “seeking jaatni,” or random late-night meetup requests with zero context or accountability. This isn’t networking. This isn’t community-building. And it’s definitely not what a city subreddit should represent.

Let’s be clear this isn’t about moral policing or judging people’s personal choices. It’s about context and platform. A city subreddit should be about:
• Local updates
• Culture, events, and food
• Genuine meetups and communities
• Help, guidance, and shared experiences

Not a low-effort substitute for dating apps or a space that makes people uncomfortable scrolling through it.

What’s worse is how normalized this is becoming. People are openly posting things that raise safety concerns, invite creepy interactions, and push away users who are actually here for meaningful discussions. You can literally see the shift less about Chandigarh, more about random personal solicitations.
And where are the moderators in all this?
Because right now, it feels like:
• There’s no clear enforcement of rules
• No filtering of repetitive or inappropriate posts
• No effort to maintain the quality of the sub
If moderation exists, it’s not visible where it matters.

This is a request—not just a rant:

To the mods:
Please step in. Set clearer guidelines. Remove low-effort and inappropriate posts. Create dedicated threads if needed. But do something to restore balance.

To the community:
Upvote better content. Stop encouraging this trend. Call it out when needed.

Chandigarh deserves better than becoming a “sasta Tinder” feed.
Let’s fix this before the sub completely loses its purpose.
