I'd like to have a simpler haircare routine that stays the same no matter what. I find it annoying having to alter my routine to add in a clarifying shampoo, especially because it makes my hair behave differently when I use it.
Are any alternatives similarly effective to dimethicone? Perhaps hair oils? Water-soluble silicones? amodimethicone?
Am I loosing anything important by switching away from dimethicone? What should I go with?
In case it matters, I have medium thickness curly hair. My current haircare routine is 3 parts: shampoo, argan oil, and dimethicone-based conditioner. It has mostly worked for me so far, but I don't know if it's optimal.
