I'm making the hair for my fursuit currently in a mohawk-like style, but I also kind of want it to come down at the front as a slight fringe. Furthermore, I want to add some black streaks into the hair, but I don't really know how to achieve this look

I'm making my first fursuit head, and unfortunately I've shaven the fur on his muzzle too short to where the backing is exposed in lines.
I've tried repairing it through by felting spare fur onto it, but the needles kept breaking (I went through the entire set I bought and it didn't make any real progress). I believe this may be because I used quite a lot of glue to stick the muzzle down.
I've also tried henson stitching the area of exposed backing together really tightly so it minimises the area shown on the top bit.
Would anyone have any idea on how else I could salvage this? Thanks!!
