A guy asked me to marry me
A guy I met a few times in chess regional competitions (like 5 times, since 2024) said he wants to marry me, not be his gf, but marry him. Shocking, yes. Let me explain.
The last time we met in a chess competition, we chatted a lot. There were multiple other people but we had the same vibe and talked, just the two of us. We kept talking like two people having a normal conversation about chess and school. He got my chess acc (a few months ago, got my number just like friends). And then today, he said he likes me, and wants to marry me, and live a beautiful life. I'm the kind of girl who's never been in a relationshi p by the way, and I don't wanna get into one. I want to find the one, get to know each other, see if we're compatible, then get married. I didn't turn him down, because I'm open and ready to get to know him more and give him a chance. I told him we can go out later, to get to know each other and give 'us' a chance (maybe at the age of 22/25). I wonder how do I know if he's the one, and I have a question: do you need to be madly in love with someone in order to marry them?
NB: we're still young. Still in highschool (both 16).
EDIT: Guys, I never said he meant he wants to marry me at this age. It's just something I consider, at an older and more mature age. For people who tell me to focus on my studies, well I'm a top student and I'm very ambitious, same thing for him.
