Ok guys, I’m just looking for someone who can quickly ID a fake, but the issues on this to me are so subtle I can’t tell. Of course after the last “red line” back and forth where the definitely fake watch was proven to be real, who knows? 😉
The only reason I’m raising a red flag is that I bought it from the Watch Connection in Toronto, and immediately after I ordered it I found out here in another thread that they have sold fake watches.
Plus I got this supposed limited reference at a great price, almost too good. Otherwise I doubt I’d even ask, because it looks OK to my untrained eye. Luckily I have a legit SSK003 to compare it to I got on GOVX. (Even though they’re gray market I’ve bought a ton of name brand stuff from them and trust they’re legit!)
I’ll include a bunch of pics, but here are the issues to me:
- Watch and band are wrapped with multiple turns of plastic wrap. I haven’t seen that before.
- No blue seal on case back, but a clear one.
- The GMT arrow hand appears a fraction larger on the new watch as well. (?)
- Cheap paper made in china black box was way too large for the smaller box the watch came in.
Again, if there’s any doubt I’ll send it for verification, so please let me know if you know of someone who does that on the West Coast, thanks!

P.S. Almost forgot! The watch came in the crudest hand cut cardboard box with a Santa Fe Sprjngs, CA return address, not from the Watch Connection in Canada.
