Non-professional aviation photographer here. I have a Facebook page and an Instagram profile to showcase my photos.
About 2 years ago, I noticed the engagement on both pages suddenly dropped. Despite having 1500 followers on each page, according to insights my posts are barely seen by a dozen people, even if I share them on Facebook groups with 20k+ members.
At first I thought people simply did not like my photos, but I found pages which stole my photos and reuploaded them as their own, and there my photos were very successful (I obviously successfully reported those pages for copyright infringement).
I suppose I have been shadowbanned (as a further confirmation of this, my sister asked me why I deleted my IG account because she does not see anything anymore from me... despite posting multiple times per week!), even though I never did anything wrong and my profile health is ok.
Is there a way out of this, or do I simply have to accept that my hobby was trashed due to a random decision of an algorithm?
Yes, I know, Meta is trash and I should simply delete my accounts, but I have no other way to showcase my photos except for Filckr and specific aviation photography websites, where I would not get nearly the same amount of visibility.
