Hey All,
So have been running for a few years. Half dozen official halfs but plenty more just run halfs. Been gearing up for my first marathon and after a 15 mile long run which wasn't my longest woke up with some pretty bad foot pain. Took 10 days off, went for a shot run and it didn't go great, got the stop doing that feels. Stopped into the doc and, said I got messed up feet and short version big toe no like bendy.
No idea why this is the first is showed up, maybe increase distance or pace but said I should by semi ridged carb fiber plates from RTP https://rtpfast.com/product/semi-rigid-carbon-fiber-inserts/.
So those are on order, not sure when they will show up but in the meantime, was thinking why not make the excuse to grab a pair of plated shoes. I don't think I am fast enough to benefit from them but thinking carbon plate is a carbon plate? I have to imagine they would do similar things.
Am I making as excuse to get plated shoes or does that kinda sorta make sense? Do plates usually run full width and length of the shoe? If they do I think a plated shoe would accomplish the same thing as a insert.
