Multiplayer Hardcore
I just got a crazy idea:
Imagine if they let you do hardcore while in multiplayer. You could start up a game with three friends of yours, and as you play, if one of you dies, it’s game over for them, they can’t play anymore. This would be cool to see you start with a full squad, until it’s only you and one other, or even you alone, to complete the game.
I feel like this would work great if it was similar to the original subnautica (1) with the story, where you have to survive and it feels somewhat lonely or dangerous, but wouldn’t work as well if it ended up having a style of gameplay more closely related to grounded, which I suspect it will.
It also would be weird since you wouldn’t really want any single person to own the file, so it would be like a shared file, since if the owner died it would be weird to make them start the game for the player still alive just to not play themselves, but it would also be cool to see the files play more as like a server that no single person has access to that everyone alive needs to be readied and loaded into to resume playing.
Regardless of all of these ideas or possibilities, I’m super pumped to see this game come out, and can’t wait to see what it has to offer!
