Subnautica 2 is unplayable

Absolutely unplayable the new fish is facing a completely different direction.

Subnautica 2's map is GIGANTIC

Look at how much distance there is between the world tree and the player even when he uses a propulsion glitch. That is some REAL distance right there. I believe this map will be real huge.

Warning: Detecting titan-class lifeforms in the region. Proceed with extreme caution

Second image is from the soundtrack list.

I believe it is most likely the tree but could definitely be something else. Maybe the tree is a sentient creature that can move around or something.

I wanna hear your theories..

It all has to do with The Tree…

In the newest trailer, an unnamed woman warns the player of “the urge to swim to the tree” as if pioneers were attracted to it like a moth to a lamp (a peeper to a mesmer). We also know that NoA, one of the central figures in SN2’s story is responsible for diverting the course of the Cicada to land on the water moon after receiving a mysterious signal and that the ancient alien race (presumably named the “Axum”) seemingly also worshipped the tree, as evidenced by their artifacts, and later went extinct. Furthermore, the old description of SN2 claims that “something is wrong with the ecosystem” (paraphrasing since it has since been replaced with the new description), which leads me to believe that the tree is some sort of super-parasite that lures sentient/sapient beings into exploring it so it can prey on them and that it will serve as the main antagonist of the sequel.

TL;DR: The tree is a sort of “cosmic anglerfish” that lures in sentient beings to it so it can prey on them and it will play a major role in the story, serving as the sequel’s equivalent of the QEP and the reason behind the Axum’s death.
