I own a Kicker l7s 15 in a 5 cu ft ported box and it's an amazing subwoofer it's got thundering lows and flexes my car but I was wondering if 2 p3 12s would be better specifically for the genres I listen to considering the l7s is a very heavy slower sub. My main genres include Nu metal, Punk, pop punk and heavy metal so I was wondering if the p3s would be better for that. The only reason I'm considering this is because someone asked to trade your guy's thoughts are appreciated, thanks a ton!

Basically, I was wondering if it's a good idea to use a -5db test tone in my specific situation. I run a Kicker L7s 15 with a 1000w amp and am not sure what gain overlap I should use. I am currently running 0db, and the clip light on my bass knob never goes off. Should I try a lower overlap and just monitor the light and see how it goes? Should I use gain overlap for doors as well, or stick to 0db with them?

I’m running a Kicker L7S 15" subwoofer in a 5 cu ft ported box, powered by a Recoil amp that’s rated for about 1200W RMS at 1 ohm. When I set my gains using a 40 Hz 0 dB test tone, I only reach around 700W RMS before my oscilloscope shows clipping. However, my amp’s clip light doesn’t turn on until significantly higher levels. Since I’m using a cheap oscilloscope from Amazon, I’m not sure which one to trust more,t he oscilloscope or the amp’s clip light? What would you all recommend also does anyone have experience with the recoil 5 channel? I believe the model is the recoil red1800.5
