My Roommate Pooped On the Floor and Blamed It On My Cat

Hello all, I've never been able to properly vent about this. So here I go, searching for validation via Reddit.

For context this happened back in 2014, when I was 17 years old. I had just begun my first year of college, after moving 3 hours away from home. I am extremely introverted, and have never dealt well with any sort of confrontation.

I had moved into a home, that was renting its three bedrooms out to nearby students. My first roommate who got there shortly before me was amazing. Sweet, kind, and queer just like me. So we got along famously. She also had a dog that I adored, as well as a hedgehog.

Still having none of my family or friends was isolating. So I ended up adopting a 2 month old kitten, I named him Mogar(RIP baby).

Not long after this, the third bedroom(directly next to mine) was rented out to who would be our final roommate. She was standoffish immediately, but I kept to myself and it wasn't an issue. However it became clear she wasn't a fan of ANY pets in the home, and made it known with several snarky comments. Me and my first roommate just tolerated her, and continued to live as we had been. After all the lease allowed pets in the home, and she was notified of our animals before signing the lease.

There was also an incident when I came home after an 11 hour holiday shift and she had locked Mogar outside in the patio(the other roommate was gone visiting family). It was below 30 at that time, so it was very cold out there and I had no idea how long he had been locked out. The patio was small, 5ft by 5ft at MOST and had nothing but a single table in it. Meaning there was no place for him to hide, and not be seen. I yelled at her while crying and holding a freezing Mogar, that if she endangered my cat again, we would have a bigger problem. She got in my face, blowing me off and essentially saying it was my fault for having him in the house. After this I kept Mogar in my room when leaving the house, along with a teddy cam to make sure he was safe.

About three months later, she came knocking on my door angrily. When I answered, she was yelling about how Mogar had pooped in the patio. I was beyond confused as I don't use the patio, and whenever he was out of my room it was under my supervision anyway. I went to see what she meant, and when I saw the poop I immediately knew something was off. Mogar was just 5 months at this point, and he was less than 5lbs. Hence he was very small. Also, to anyone who's ever had a cat, you know what their poop looks like.

This was clearly not from my cat. First of all it was MASSIVE, in a pile, and not remotely shaped like cat turds usually are. Before anyone asks, my other roommate along with her dog were not there the entire weekend, so it wasn't her dog.

It was a fresh pile of crap, and she wouldnt stop berating me about it. I told her several times, that it wasn't cat poop. Even said I'd show the litter box for proof. She kept yelling, and getting more aggressive to the point I was scared but even more so for Mogar. So I relented and cleaned it up.

I later had to report this same roommate for prostitution of which I had proof, and when the landlord did nothing I moved back home to finish college.

I've never forgotten about this, and I've sometimes wished I had the mental and emotional strength to have handled it better.

Thank you for reading, and I hope you never have to clean another humans pile of crap.
