Not many enemies, but many green flags in Enemies to Lovers ep 2

I gotta be honest, I've been enjoying this show way more than I thought I would.

I think the funniest thing here is that they're not enemies at all. They just pretend to be so no one in the company knows what they're doing... But the cracks show up eventually.

Lal is such a green flag: she protects Wine from a creepy coworker, takes her home so she can be safe after drinking, and tells her to make a decision about their arrangement only when she's not drunk. You can see how Wine falls for the green flag Lal is.

(Also, the smiles on their sexy scene.)

Wine brought food that she knew Lal like. Lal danced around in excitement when reads the note that Wine has approved their arrangement. Such cute scenes and green flags.

It's funny (and heartwarming) to see that they already fell harder than their FWB indicates.

So many thoughts about The Water ep 8

I'll start by saying I am not a fan of the pacing in this last episode, but I don't know how much it came from the novel, so I'm not gonna make it a big deal.

Now, back to the good stuff:

Let's start with Nam. She started the 4E journey as the woman who could not see anything other than work (with the exception of her cousins, maybe). Well, she's changed so much that she neglects her work after getting rejected by Lada again. That's character growth, albeit painful.

On the other hand, Lada is rejecting Nam because she thinks she's protecting her. Lada is repeating the pattern she has with her mom: in order to protect the people she loves, she rejects her own needs, wants, and feelings.

When Nam's father tricks them into meeting again, Nam is able to bypass Lada's cover and somehow turns a make up conversation into a proposal that Lada finally accepts. That's more character growth. For the first time, Lada is choosing herself.

The wedding is a blast. The cousins crashing with a singing act was awesome. And I really loved that Lada chose to gave Lom the bouquet because she acknowledges that Lom supported them despite her own feelings.

It was also cute to see how much they changed after the wedding. Lada became more focused on work, even to the point that Nam teased that she was more of a workaholic than her. And Nam grew softer and more playful, especially towards Lada.

All in all, The Water thrived on character growth. Engfa's and Charlotte's acting were on point, especially in the more heartbreaking scenes. The only aspect it lacked was that I feel there could've been more cousin interactions, which were one of the brightest parts of The Earth.

PS.1: I really like how they're setting up Lom for The Air. Despite being a flirt, Lom is serious about all the girls she's interested in. It just has never worked out for her in the long term, so it might be frustrating. But all the love she pours out to the world will flow back to her in the shape of the woman who will choose Lom despite her royal obligations (yes. I'm looking at you, Blew.). The Air, it cannot be contained.

PS.2: Fai running from the bouquet, lol. Her time will come.

I think this episode was great at showcasing character development.

Starting with Lada, we feel the weight of her every choice. She decides to stay to protect her mom. She runs away when the cousins provide a diversion. She rejects Nam. Lada is finally trying to write her own story. I take Lada rejecting Nam as her way of trying to leave the past behind and start brand new. But she's still not over it, given the way she reminisces about several moments they spent together. To me, it seems like Lada still hasn't found a way to forgive herself (and Nam). And she won't be able to move on until she does.

As for Nam, she's really trying to get Lada back. For a woman who used to only care about work, she moved mountains for Lada. She disrupts her wedding and uncovers the truth to protect Lada's mom... but it still wasn't enough. I can relate to Nam in the way that we process the world in a very rational way... but we often forget that emotions aren't rational. Nam did everything she could and still couldn't win Lada back because Lada still needs more time process her own emotions. And Nam's rational mind might take a little longer to process that.

All in all, I had a feeling nothing Nam could say would make Lada go back to her, though it was important for her to say it anyway.

Bonus points for Lom: she had a crush on Lada when Nam cut in. Lom was angry about it, but worked on her feelings to be there for her cousin. And now we see her talk to Lada because she genuinely cares for them. What a gentle soul she is and what a nice setup for The Air.
