It seems most people don't know this exists yet. Instructions below.

If you don't have this feature, you're not using the limited vertical screen height and the ultrawide capability to its fullest. This is why we have wide monitors, because side-to-side movement of the head is comfortable, not up and down. I paired this with the " all-back " start menu mod to have the Windows Start Bar on the side of my screen for Windows 11, but it is not needed. Also, I use Fancy Zones in Windows Power Toys. I have perfected my setup over the last 6 years using a 49" ultrawide.

Using chrome://Flags you can now enable vertical tabs. This feature has changed my life over the last month. Instructions below.

  1. Go to the URL Chrom://flags (page should look like the picture)
  2. In the search bar, look up Vertical Tabs.
  3. It will be set to default. Change it to Enabled.
  4. At the bottom of the page, a blue button called "relanch" will appear. Press it.
  5. Wait for the relaunch.
  6. Right-click on the top bar of the browser next to a tab. (not on a tab)
  7. In the drop-down menu, click "show tabs vertically".
  8. On the left side of the browser, the tab flyout will appear as seen in the picture.
  9. Per computer per profile, this must be done due to it being in the experimental phase. may not work with other experimental features enabled.

The flyout can be resized in width. It can be squeezed to just show bubbles and support tab groups.
