Follow-up: Let’s fix glass pad gripes together--We need your votes

Hey again.

From your comments, issues stand out. We have ideas, but we want you to vote before we lock things in.

1. Size

Most of you want large pads.

👉 What size do you prefer?

A: 490mm*420mm

B: 500mm*500mm

2. Color

Pure white or fully transparent surfaces can cause tracking loss on some mice.

👉 What’s color do you prefer?

A: Black

B: Blue( similar to the color of our Blue Lotus switch, as shown)

C: Custom anime illustration

3. Thickness

Our total thickness (glass +anti-shatter film+base) will be less than 3mm

👉 What glass thickness do you prefer?

A: total thickness around 2.5mm(glass 1.5mm)

B: total thickness around 3mm(glass 2.0mm)

4. Arm sleeves (ice sleeves)

Some hate them, some wear them daily. We’re considering offering sleeves as an accessory – breathable, low‑friction fabric.

👉 Would you buy a sleeve if it solves skin sticking?

A: Yes

B: No

C: Only if bundled with the pad

Drop your answers in the comments – for example: “1A 2A 3C 4B

We’ll share the final decisions before production. Thank you in advance.

IC results: What you told us about glass pads

Hey r/MousepadReview,

About a week ago we asked for your thoughts on glass pads. A dedicated group of you responded with detailed votes and comments. Thank you.

Here’s what we learned.

1. Size & shape
Most of you want large pads. Many said 450x400 feels too short. We’re now targeting 490x420mm or bigger. What size do you prefer?

2. Speed
The majority prefer speed. “Too slippery” was still mentioned, but overall the community leans toward faster glide. We’re tuning our micro-etch depth accordingly — speed first, with just enough control to feel confident.

3. Coating
We’re going uncoated. It aligns with our “performance that doesn’t wear out” philosophy.

4. Price
We heard “too expensive” from some of you. We’re working hard to keep the final price reasonable and competitive — no shortcuts, but no unnecessary markup either.

5. Biggest pain points (from your comments)

  • Skin sticking / suction effect (most hated)
  • Base wobble on uneven desks
  • Edge thickness digging into forearm
  • Dust and frequent cleaning
  • PTFE feet wearing out too fast

What we’re doing next

  • Ultra-thin glass(2mm or thinner) + full-coverage silicone base – eliminating the edge cliff and desk wobble in one go
  • Fine-tuning the micro-etch surface – balancing speed and control while reducing skin suction
  • Custom PTFE feet – as an add-on for longer durability
  • Sleeve accessory – exploring breathable, low-friction material for those who want it

We’ll share more in a follow‑up post. Thanks again. You’re helping us build this thing right.

Why are so many still daily-driving the Durock Mocha? Let's unpack it

Hey everyone, Durock Official here.

As we continue building our Reddit presence, we want to shine a light on switches that are already out there in your boards. Today, we're looking at a community favorite--one specifically engineered to crack the code for a Deep sound profile “Durock Mocha”

Since its release, we've loved reading your feedback and watching your sound tests. Here’s a quick breakdown of why the Mocha remains a staple for "thocky" builds.

Housing: Full POK (top & bottom) – chosen for ultra low friction and durability. Delivers a naturally deeper, smoother acoustic signature than standard materials.

Stem: Long Pole is absolute the key to the concentrated "thock". It provides that signature solid, deep bottom-out sound that defining a premium linear.

Spring: 56g/62g long spring – the secret to the feel. Aggressive, snappy return keeps the deep sound from ever feeling muddy or sluggish.

Whether you’ve had these in your daily driver for years or are just discovering them, we’re happy to finally be here to chat.

Hey everyone:

Long-time lurker, first-time poster. We are the team behind Durock, known for Mechanical keyboard switches, stabilizers, and accessories. And now we are working on a new glass mousepads project. We want to make sure we’re building something this community actually wants.

Let's do a quick temperature check:

1. What is your primary pad material right now?

(A) Cloth  (B) Glass  (C) Hybrid  (D) Hard pad

2. For the Non-Glass users: What is the absolute dealbreaker holding you back from trying glass?

3. For the Glass Pad users: What is the single most annoying thing about your current pad that you want us to fix? (Stiction? Coating wearing off? Edge comfort? Too fast/Too slow?)

4. The Coating Debate: Our R&D team is currently debating between a purely uncoated surface vs. an AF coating for a sub-2mm profile. We have our preference, but what is yours?"

Drop your thoughts below. We need your help, thanks.

For us, it’s the one that changed how people think about silent tactiles:

Durock Silent Shrimp

As we continue building our official home here on Reddit, we wanted to revisit why this switch remains a staple in so many builds. It wasn't just about making a quiet switch — it was about proving that silence doesn't have to mean sacrificing a crisp tactile bump.

The Craft Behind the Shrimp

  1. T1 DNA – sharp, high-tactile bump that T1 fans will recognize instantly
  2. Materials – durable white POM stem + 67g gold-plated spring for snappy, consistent return
  3. Aesthetic– signature vibrant green & white to brighten up any PCB
  4. Experience – poppy yet muted feel that’s quiet enough for an office, satisfying enough for late-night gaming

Was the Silent Shrimp your first introduction to Durock? Or did another one of our classics win you over?
