Hi everyone,
I’m a solo woman founder and I recently started Desi Kandie—a small venture to bring back 90s school nostalgia (Chatmola, Kismi, Bair Kut, etc.). 🍭
The start was amazing! I was overwhelmed with love and successfully shipped 50+ orders all over India via India Post. Seeing people relive their childhood through my boxes was the best feeling.
But suddenly, the orders have completely dried up. 🛑
I’m doing everything alone—from sourcing and packing to marketing and customer service. I even brought back my popular trial pack for just ₹143 (with Free Shipping) to make it affordable, but I’m struggling to reach new people now.
I’m at a point where I’m wondering:
Is the nostalgia factor not enough for repeat orders?
Where should I market besides Instagram/Reddit without a huge budget?
Should I change my packaging or add more varieties?
I really don't want to give up on this because I know the product brings joy. Would love some brutal honesty or advice on how to scale from here.
