Hey y’all, I have a 2014 1.8L manual @ 145k miles. She was soon due for an oil change so at work today and notice my oil level was pretty low, which was strange to me because I change oil before the 5k intervals. On lunch I grabbed some oil and a filter and went to change it. When I was taking the filter cap off a bunch of oil rushed out and the plastic top of the filter was stuck in the cap and the rest of the filter was stuck in the housing. After getting the rest of it out and observing how chewed up the oil filter was I noticed the plastic handle the filter goes over was broken at the top. I had to finish the job so I could drive home so I put it in place and put the new oil and filter in. While driving home she was running fine but the CEL came on and it gave me the P0171 code. I checked for the obvious vacuum leaks but everything looked fine. What should I be checking next? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks 🙏
