ROG Strix G16 Suddenly Smoked While Idle, Won’t Start Anymore (India/Warranty Help)
My ASUS ROG Strix G16 (13th Gen i7-13650HX + RTX 4060) was sitting idle and not plugged in, so it went into sleep mode. After around 5–6 hours, I suddenly heard a noise while scrolling on my phone. When I got up, I saw a puff of smoke coming out of the laptop.
Now it smells burnt and won’t turn on at all.
The weird part is that the laptop temperature was completely normal before this happened. It’s still under warranty, but I’m honestly really worried because I depend on this laptop for a lot of things.
I’m from Bangalore, India. Has anyone experienced something similar with ASUS laptops? What usually happens in cases like this?
- Will ASUS repair it?
- Replace the motherboard?
- Give a replacement laptop?
- How long does the process usually take?
Any advice or similar experiences would really help right now.
