I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately and I’m genuinely confused. Where are the people (men, specifically in my case) who actually like having a partner?
Like… someone who wants to:
Talk throughout the day (not constantly, but consistently)
Share their life with you
Plan things together
Be affectionate without it feeling forced
Actually enjoy your presence, not just tolerate it
I feel like I keep running into the same pattern: a lot of effort in the beginning, then once things become official… the energy drops. 😒 It’s not even about grand gestures. I’m talking about basic things like:
communication
follow-through
wanting to spend time together
emotional presence
I don’t need perfection, but I do want someone who acts like they want a relationship, not just says it.
I’m also the type who enjoys doing things with my partner like working out together, cooking, running errands, just existing in the same space. I like partnership, not distance.
So I guess my question is:
👉 Are people just burnt out?
👉 Am I attracting emotionally unavailable people?
👉 Or is this just what dating looks like right now?
