Hey everybody, this is my first post. I watched the Percy Jackson TV series and really liked both seasons, but I don’t want to wait for Season 3, so I want to start reading the Riordanverse. The problem is that every reading guide says I should read the first two books first, but since I already watched the show, I already know most of what’s going to happen.

I actually really want to enjoy the first two books because I’ve heard they’re amazing, but when I started reading the first book, I got bored after a few chapters because I already knew the plot. I don’t want to skip important stuff, though.

So would it be okay to just start with the third book, or would I miss major plot points, characters, or scenes that the show didn’t include?
