Im a grade 11 student in BC. I want to do mechanical engineering. I really can't decide if I should go to UBC, BCIT, UVIC, or SFU. Obviously engineering is hard but I don't want my uni life to be buried in classes. I know BCIT is very strict on taking a lot of classes, and I don't see the need to take 6 classes a semester when I could take some courses over the summer too. But I also heard UBC isn't the best for mechanical, and they're not fond of us taking summer courses too.

Right now Im getting 90's or above in all my gr. 11 classes. How hard is engineering at UBC, and do they have good co-ops and stuff that make it worth it?
