Is it hard to meet people/make friends (35f professional)?

Hi! Planning to move back to the west side of the state but have never lived in Muskegon. I like hiking, pickleball, walking my dogs, and crafting.

For any professionals my age(ish), how has meeting people/making friends been for you? Any better/worse than other places you’ve lived?

Adult client afraid of being kidnapped

I have a young adult client who has pervasive anxiety related to being kidnapped. She lives in a community that continues to verbalize the narrative that her demographic is the key target. Not a whole lot of fact checking going on amongst the community and many ongoing “a man followed me through the grocery store” type narratives that are unlikely to be true.

We’ve worked on grounding techniques, safety planning, and cognitive distortions. Just reaching out to see if anyone has bee in this situation before and had any tips on next steps

Book rec requests for working with kids

Hi!

I’m making the transition from early intervention school social worker (ages 3-5) to clinical therapist(ages 3-12).

I’m looking for book recommendations for play therapy, general therapy, and child development. I’ve researched but there are soooooo many books for each one and books are expensive! Hoping to narrow it down so I can purchase just a few to get started.

Thank you!
