Yesterday I went in store and purchased a JBL Xtreme 3 wireless speaker. £140. Didn’t come with its own cable but got a CEX one. Got home around 7pm and when I put the speaker on charge, it doesn’t turn on or charge at all.
Cool, I can just return to the same CEX with my receipt and get a refund. Wrong. The member of staff who sold me the speaker yesterday refused to even test the speaker to see if it’s working and very loudly patronised me and told me twice that it’s an “unwanted” return so either I can sell it back to them and get £70 or walkway with it.
I went to another CEX just to get the product tested, which they did & I explained the situation. They called the branch from where I purchased and they’re sticking to an unwanted purchase. I’ve only been a seller to CEX, I guess I’ve been taught an expensive lesson to stay away from second hand tech.
Is there anything I can do now? They’ll always contact the first store, so I’m stuck with £140 speaker that doesn’t even function. I appreciate any advice please.
